Environmental Permitting Operators Certificate
Build the technical expertise you need to manage waste sites and meet environmental permitting requirements.
This two-day programme gives you the knowledge and skills to operate as a 'technically competent person' under the CIWM (WAMITAB) Operator Competence Scheme.
We combine presentations, discussions, case studies, and practical exercises to ensure you understand environmental permitting inside out. You'll complete a short multiple-choice assessment at the end to demonstrate your knowledge.
Use your EPOC certification as evidence of technical competence for low-risk sites, as per the risk tier table, or secure a 12-month grace period for new permit applications. At the same time, you complete your 6- or 12-unit qualification (excluding landfill).
This programme equips you to:
-
Operate systems that protect the environment and ensure permit compliance
-

-
Take appropriate action in different scenarios to maintain compliance
-

This course is open entry, which means you do not require any other qualifications or levels of attainment to complete this training. However, you will need to be employed in a suitable position or be familiar with the working environment.
Once you have completed this training, you will be able to act as the Technically Competent Manager (TCM) for certain low-risk sites according to the risk tier table, or use the EPOC as evidence to gain a 12-month grace period for new permit applications, during which you can undertake the relevant 6 or 12 unit qualification (not applicable to landfill).
