NHS Waste Manager Training

Overview

NHS England has committed to being a Net Zero Carbon Healthcare provider by 2040. To this end, NHS England has developed a 10-year Clinical Waste Strategy which calls for organisations to have appropriately trained management resources.

Created specifically for NHS Waste Managers or equivalent roles and endorsed by NHS England's 10-year Clinical Waste Strategy, this programme is designed to meet the evolving demands of healthcare waste management, covering safe and sustainable practices while addressing legislative requirements and emerging industry trends. The programme is aligned with Health Technical Memorandum 07-01: Safe and Sustainable Management of Healthcare Waste.

As the leading professional body for resource and waste management professionals, we recognise that the pace of change in our sector is significant and can lead to skills and knowledge gaps as policy, practice, and technology evolve. To support continual learning and development, this programme includes one year of CIWM Affiliate membership and, on completion of the full programme, delegates will automatically be upgraded to Technical membership which includes the use of dedicated post-nominals (TechMCIWM).

On completion of the full programme, delegates will have accumulated 57.5 hours of CPD.

The programme combines live virtual training sessions with pre-course work, e-learning, and short homework tasks designed to reinforce learning between modules. All live sessions are delivered via Zoom.
